Choosing between the three

It comes down to whether you are coming back, how long you stay and how far you travel. Whichever you choose, your exact fare, tax included, is confirmed before you book, and we will always recommend the booking that best fits your plans.

  • Simply there: a one-way ride is the natural choice when you are not returning, or will travel back another way.
  • Stay flexible: with an hourly booking you leave when you are ready, not at a set time.
  • Every stop included: add a second venue or a quick errand without rebooking.
  • Long stays, simply: a round trip drops you off and returns at the time you choose.
  • Long journeys: for a day out of the city, keeping your chauffeur is the more relaxed choice, and often the more economical one.

When a one-way ride makes sense

A one-way ride is the simplest booking: one pickup, one destination, one fare. It suits the journeys where you are not coming back the same way, such as a ride to the airport for a flight out, an arrival at Penn Station, or a drop-off at dinner when you will be getting home another way.

Your chauffeur meets you at the door, or inside the terminal for airport pickups, with your flight tracked and an hour of waiting included after you land. An extra stop close to your pickup or drop-off is included at no extra charge, so collecting a colleague on the way is no trouble.

When an hourly booking makes sense

Book by the hour when the evening has more than one part to it. Dinner followed by drinks elsewhere, a gallery opening before a late table, an afternoon of meetings across Manhattan: with an hourly booking your chauffeur stays with you throughout, waiting nearby and ready the moment you are.

It is also the calmer choice when you cannot be sure when you will leave. A show that runs long or a dinner that turns into a celebration simply carries on: the first 15 minutes beyond your booking are complimentary, and after that the time is billed at the same hourly rate. Hourly bookings usually start with a three-hour minimum, so hourly suits plans that fill that time.

When a round trip makes sense

A round trip is two scheduled rides, booked together, so your return is confirmed from the start rather than arranged later. We take you to your destination and return at the time you choose to bring you home. It suits longer stays, such as a full day at the office or an evening at a reception, and journeys days apart, such as an airport transfer out and back.

Because the return is scheduled, it works best when you know roughly when you will be ready. For flights, we track your arrival and include a full hour of waiting after you land. Plans can be adjusted after booking, so if your day changes, call or text us and we will arrange a new time.

Planning a group day or an event

For a group, the same thinking applies on a larger scale. A day in the Hamptons or a wine tour means a long drive at each end, and a game at Citi Field ends when it ends. Both are exactly when keeping a Sprinter for the day makes sense. Everyone travels together, and the vehicle is ready when the group is.

When guests arrive and leave at set times, such as a group airport run or a wedding with a fixed send-off, scheduled rides are often the simpler plan. Our 14-passenger Sprinter carries the whole party and their luggage, and you can price both options in the booking form before you decide.
