Most groups visit two or three wineries comfortably in a single day. Once arrival, seating, the tasting itself, and a stop for lunch are accounted for, a four-winery itinerary generally means cutting short the estates you travelled to see.

Can we add a lunch stop or time in town?

Yes. The vehicle is yours for the block of hours you reserve, so a lunch reservation, an hour in Greenport or Millbrook, or a detour on the way back is simply part of the itinerary. Tell your chauffeur and the route adjusts around it.

LONG ISLAND

The North Fork.

More than sixty vineyards along a narrow strip of farmland, and the region most New Yorkers picture first. The drive is what shapes the day: Riverhead sits roughly 90 minutes from Midtown outside peak hours, the tasting rooms in Cutchogue, Peconic, Southold, and Mattituck lie a further 15 to 30 minutes east, and Friday afternoon traffic on the Long Island Expressway can extend the journey to three hours.

HUDSON VALLEY

Closer, and easier to pace.

Roughly ninety minutes from the city, and the time saved at either end changes what the day can hold. Three unhurried tastings and a proper sit-down lunch are comfortable here in a way they rarely are further east. Millbrook Vineyards anchors the region and is widely regarded as its flagship estate, with Milea close by for a straightforward two-stop itinerary.

NEW JERSEY

The quieter alternative.

Frequently overlooked, and often the shortest drive of the three. Hunterdon County, sometimes described as the Napa Valley of New Jersey, holds Old York Cellars and Unionville Vineyards in Ringoes, with Beneduce and Mount Salem nearby in Pittstown. North into the Warren Hills you will find Alba Vineyard, one of the largest estates in the state, alongside Four Sisters, Brook Hollow, and Villa Milagro.

Nothing undoes a winery day faster than arriving somewhere that cannot seat you. Most boutique estates now operate by reservation, particularly on weekends, so secure your tastings directly with each winery first and we will build the route and the timings around them.

Plan on two or three estates rather than four. Tastings take longer than most people anticipate once arrival, seating, the pour, and lunch are accounted for, and it is the fourth stop that turns a considered day into a rushed one.

How a winery day is booked

There is no separate winery package. A wine trip is arranged as an hourly charter, which means you reserve the vehicle and chauffeur for a block of time rather than purchasing a fixed itinerary. You set the length of that block, whether it is six hours for two estates in the Hudson Valley or a full day out to the North Fork and back.

It is the fairest way to price the day, since the only real variable is how long you wish to stay. Your quote is calculated from the vehicle and the hours before you confirm, and should the day run long it can be extended by the hour, subject to the vehicle's next commitment.

What travels with you

A cooler and glassware are included on the Executive Sprinter and available on other vehicles by request, so the bottles you buy stay properly chilled for the journey rather than sitting warm in the back. We do not supply alcohol; purchases are made at the estates and travel with you.

The vehicle remains with your group throughout, so cases are loaded straight after each stop and coats and bags stay exactly where you left them between estates.
